Song of the day - Thalaiyai Kuniyum Thamaraiye
I listened to this song after long time. I listened to this again and again and lost track how many times I did. The song is "Thalaiyai Kuniyum Thamaraiye" from movie "Oru Odai Nadhiyagirathu" set in Rithigowlai carnatic Raga from Ilaiyaraja. Sung by SPB and Rajeswari. Here is some interesting information about some other movie songs set in the same raga here.
You can watch this song in Youtube:
Lovely picturization too -- Gentle performance by Raguvaran. What a beautiful song.

AyurVeda - Healing the body and Healing the Mind!
When my friend Srini recommended this book Prakrati : Your Ayurvedic Constitution authored by Dr. Svoboda, I just thought I will give it a try reading. It turned out to be very interesting reading packed with wisdom and knowledge. If you are ever intrigued with the subject of Ayurveda, I highly recommend this one. You can find a nice review of this book here: http://www.vedicbooks.net/prakruti-your-ayurvedic-constitution-p-460.html

The Secret Of Nurturing Beautiful Relationships
I read this article from Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, very interesting one.
It is here:
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Speaking_Tree/The_Secret_Of_Nurturing_Beautiful_Relationships/articleshow/2536657.cms
Few years back, I & my sister had attended his 5-days Yoga course at Chennai. It was a pleasure listening to him talking. Great insights, great control over his ideas and language.
He is probably the far most crowd pulling living Guru during public talks in Tamil Nadu. His 2003 talk at Marina beach, chennai attracted around 120000 people.
One thing I really like from this generation of Gurus such as Sri Sri Ravishankar and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is their inclusiveness of women into spirituality. They equally encourage women to get involved, teach courses as well. It is high time we stop the intellectual oppression that our sisters have been subjected to by telling them they are not smart enough for spiritual matters. Things are changing-- Spirituality is for every one -- men, women, young or old. It has become even fashionable to have a perspective in spirituality and get involved in social activities and in the process, celebrate our life with joy. Now, spirituality can be fun and can fill the void in you. To be spiritual no longer means self denial, on the contrary, it is a matter of celebrating life without guilt. That is also a core of Art of Living's founder Sri Sri Ravishankar's message -- Be Joyful and celebrate life -- You are at your best when you are happy and be peace with yourself. As they say, both Joy and misery is infectious, so you choose.
Last, but not the least, Yoga promotes vegetarianism. I have witnessed many people, through practicing of meditation and yoga, realize over the period of time they are much better off sticking to vegetarian diet-- more conducive to intellectual and physical health.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev's main ashram is located near Coimbatore.

Welcome to Thava's Blog
You are welcome here, folks, just feel at home. Grab yourself a drink. Just sit, stretch your legs and relax.
Who am I ?
I am spiritual (Imagine me doing meditation, Yoga, Sadhana, etc.)
I despise hurting animals (Imagine me protesting/leafletting)
I am vegetarian... (Imagine me hogging all veggie stuff...)
I love philosophy... (i.e. Exploring the beginning and the end of the Universe! )
I am big fan of ArtOfLiving (Believe me, it is having immense impact on this planet!)
What do I do for living ?
At present working as software professional in Sun Microsystems, Bangalore, India.
Here is my favourite quote:
Be the change that you want to see in the world. - Gandhi
Meaning: If you don't like something, just do something about it, silly!
I am going to sleep now guys... you can stay if you like, just remember to switch off the TV & lights before you turn yourself in.
